The preparation has been exhaustive, marketing effective, and the day has finally come.

The venue is well prepared, right up to your expectations with all the key details covered.
Seating… lighting… sound… stage… AV… refreshments…
All in place, but after all, they are experts.

The audience has entered the room, with just the usual suspects wandering in late.

Key speakers and presenters are on hand, the run-sheet says all systems are good to go…

But where is the MC? He was here earlier wasn’t he…; the vital opening video for our product launch, that we HAVE to play to create momentum isn’t displaying…; Oh no, the second speakers PPT won’t display…;

Seriously, your company or organization’s reputation and critical public perception is on the line, so every event must be executed with absolute decorum; with no embarrassing upsets.

Over the years I have managed all sorts of events, corporate and private; acting as a conventional Master of Ceremonies, an interviewer, debate host and more.

There’s been the typical things that go wrong: AV systems that failed, the noisy tradesmen in the adjoining room, the keynote speaker whose taxi-cab had the accident en-route from the airport and I had to source and brief an alternate speaker from the floor with a few minutes notice…
